Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Senior Social Work Practitioner to join the Kinship Team in Thurrock on a hybrid, full-time basis. The role involves conducting assessments, developing support plans, and supervising junior social workers within a dynamic local authority setting.

Flexible working week with one in-office day and some community visits; hybrid model supports home working and on-site duties. The position offers locum flexibility and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Registered social worker with HCPC registration.
• Experience in kinship/children’s social work preferred.
• Ability to supervise/mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop comprehensive support plans for children and families in the Kinship Team.
• Provide expert guidance and advice to junior social workers, ensuring best practice and high standards of care.
• Liaise with agencies and professionals to coordinate family support.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to service development.
• Offer professional supervision and mentoring to less experienced team members.
• Manage a caseload efficiently with timely interventions and statutory compliance.
