Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting a Locum Social Worker for the Kinship/SGO Team in East Riding of Yorkshire. The role offers £30.00 per hour with ongoing, full-time or part-time options to support stability for children in kinship care and Special Guardianship arrangements.

The post requires a Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England, plus post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care.

Qualifications

• A recognised Social Work qualification such as a Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, or equivalently recognised credentials.
• Demonstrated continuous professional development, especially in Children's Social Care and Permanence Services.

Responsibilities

• Undertake assessments to determine the viability of kinship arrangements, as well as conducting Special Guardianship assessments for relatives and connections who aim to care for children.
• Prepare high-calibre court reports, Special Guardianship reports, and permanent assessments, ensuring these meet statutory timelines.
• Offer advice, guidance, and continuous support to kinship carers and Special Guardians, assisting with support planning and review processes.
• Contribute to permanence planning, promoting secure family-based care arrangements for children where suitable.
• Assess risk and conduct safeguarding interventions to protect children from harm and to promote their welfare.

Experience:

• Experience preparing reports for court proceedings.
