Job summary

LADbible Group is seeking a Senior Social Editor to be at the heart of its audience growth strategy. You will distribute trending and breaking news to a global audience, ensuring journalism reaches the right people on the right platforms at the right time.

You'll shape a daily publishing schedule with editorial judgement and data insights to maximise reach across social platforms. This fast-paced, social-led editorial role has real impact on the brand's performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a newsroom or digital publishing environment.
• Proven ability to select content and write headlines for a digital audience.
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms and Google Search.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues within editorial teams.
• Clear understanding of trending news and how to turn it into original, engaging stories.

Responsibilities

• Stay ahead of competitors by proactively researching trending news, stories, and viral videos.
• Identify and champion content that our audience will want to read, watch, or share.
• Take a 360 approach to sourcing and distributing content across multiple platforms and referrers.
• Collaborate with social editors, writers, and journalists to develop ideas and improve content performance.
• Schedule and post content across Facebook and Twitter.
• Package articles with compelling headlines, captions, and thumbnails.
• Monitor performance using analytics tools to maximise reach.
• Explore new methods for audience growth across search and referrers.
• Bring creativity and fresh ideas to the team, contributing to improvements.
• Work across a seven-day rota and cover live events as they happen.
