Job summary

Searchability is seeking a Senior SOC Analyst for an onsite role in Farnborough, UK. You will monitor, investigate and respond to security incidents, analyse alerts, and contribute to the ongoing maturity of the SOC.

The role requires hands-on experience in security operations, with Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk, knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, strong networking basics, and the ability to produce clear reports; shift work (4 on, 4 off) and SC clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Security Operations Centre environment
• Solid understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework
• Experience with monitoring security events and incident response
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN)
• Experience with scripting (Python/PowerShell) is advantageous
• Security certifications such as Security+ or equivalent desirable

Responsibilities

• Up to £70,000 package depending on experience

• SC clearance required, with eligibility for DV and Sole British Citizenship

The Senior SOC Analyst Role

As a Senior SOC Analyst, you will play a key role in monitoring, investigating and responding to cyber security incidents across critical client environments. You will analyse alerts, investigate complex threats, improve detection capabilities and contribute to the ongoing maturity of the SOC.

You will also:

• Monitor and investigate security events across enterprise environments
• Perform incident response activities and support remediation efforts
• Analyse network traffic, endpoint activity and system logs
• Improve detection rules using MITRE ATT and CK techniques
• Produce technical and customer facing reports
• Support threat intelligence activities and mentor junior analysts where required

Senior SOC Analyst Essential Skills

• Previous experience within a Security Operations Centre
• Strong experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk
• Good understanding of the MITRE ATT and CK framework
• Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN and common internet protocols
• Experience investigating security incidents and responding to cyber threats
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Security certifications such as Security Plus, BTL1 or equivalent are desirable
• Python, PowerShell or other scripting experience would be advantageous
