Job summary

Network IT in Buckinghamshire seeks a Senior SOC Analyst with active DV clearance to lead the security monitoring function. You will oversee investigation, escalation and the delivery of high-quality cyber security monitoring across a 4-week shift pattern.

Responsibilities include monitoring, incident investigation, data correlation, and ongoing improvement of detection and response. A 6-month contract initially with 12-hour shifts and 75 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security operations and SOC environments.
• Ability to investigate alerts and events using enterprise monitoring techniques.
• Knowledge of SIEM platforms, log analysis and threat intel.
• Understanding attacker techniques and cyber threat frameworks.
• Experience supporting cyber incident response activities.
• Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work shift-based 24/7 environment.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft SC-200, CompTIA CySA+, GIAC, GCIA.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational monitoring to deliver high-quality security monitoring and escalation.
• Investigate alerts and complex events, determine significance and actions.
• Correlate data sources to establish attack timelines and impacted systems.
• Analyse indicators of compromise and threat intel to assess events.
• Escalate incidents per procedures and support incident responders.
• Improve alert quality, monitoring coverage, and detection effectiveness.
• Validate new monitoring content and deployment procedures.
• Assist in onboarding new systems and cloud services into SOC monitoring.
• Maintain investigations records and document analyses.
• Mentor Practitioner SOC Analysts and contribute to post-incident reviews.
