Job summary

Network IT is seeking a Senior SOC Analyst in Buckinghamshire on a 6-month contract. You will lead security monitoring operations, coordinate investigations and escalations, and ensure high-quality cyber defense across shift rotations. Active DV clearance is mandatory.

The role entails 12-hour shifts on a 4-week pattern with day and night coverage, and opportunities for extension. The successful candidate will monitor for cyber events, investigate alerts, and contribute to ongoing improvements

Qualifications

• Active DV clearance is required.
• Experience in a SOC or equivalent security operations environment.
• Experience investigating cyber security alerts and events.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the organisation’s technology estate to identify cyber security events and indicators of compromise using approved monitoring platforms.
• Independently investigate security alerts and complex cyber security events to determine significance and impact.
• Correlate information from multiple data sources to establish attack timelines and support incident assessment.
• Analyse indicators of compromise and attacker techniques to determine severity of events.
• Escalate confirmed or suspected incidents to the Lead SOC Analyst or Incident Responder.
• Support Incident Responders with findings, timelines and technical information.
• Contribute to continual improvement of monitoring capability and detection effectiveness.
• Validate new monitoring content and deployment procedures before live use.
• Assist in onboarding new systems and cloud services into SOC monitoring.
• Maintain accurate investigations records and share knowledge with peers.
