Our vision is to become the UK's best car insurance provider. We have a fantastic platform to kick start our development by inheriting the mature AWS experience and platform developed for our parent company. To continue making the most of this platform and to grow our future ambitions, we require experienced AWS engineers in house to make most efficient use of the tooling available to us in AWS.

Working in close collaboration with the Italian operations team, and reporting to the CTO in Italy, you will be expected to learn all the intricacies of our AWS setup with a view of being able to independently support the needs of the UK while contributing to the continued development of a platform with global ambitions.

Specifically, you will take care of these tasks:

• Work closely with UK product and development teams to advise on and configure appropriate cloud infrastructure elements in AWS in a secure, repeatable and maintainable fashion
• Identify and implement appropriate monitoring and reporting on the performance and cost of our cloud infrastructure
• Respond to incidents and implement solutions to prevent recurrence

Requirements:

You are our ideal candidate if you meet these requirements:

• Deep knowledge of AWS
• Deep knowledge on CloudFormation or Terraform for AWS desired state management
• Excellent knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, DNS and Linux
• Deep knowledge of HTTP(S) protocol
• Good knowledge of networking, shell scripting and multiple programming languages
• Excellent knowledge of Git

In addition to the basic requirements, we will carefully evaluate these characteristics:

• Experience working in a heavily regulated environment handling high volumes of sensitive and personal data (such as Insurance, Banking, Healthcare and so on)
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with DataDog for platform and application monitoring
• Knowledge of RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Redis, Rust, Elixir or Erlang
• Experience with Cloudflare, Wireguard or OpenVPN
• Experience with managing big data tools such as Apache Airflow (MWAA), Spark (EMR), AWS Glue, AWS QuickSight
