Job summary

Randstad CPE invites applications for a Lead Mechanical Engineer in Manchester. You will oversee heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and mechanical plant assets, directing maintenance to ensure peak performance and compliance for building occupants.

The role leads the site engineering team, collaborates with subcontractors, and ensures safety standards with risk assessments and permits. A BPSS clearance is required to proceed.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a high-demand FM environment.
• City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 (or higher) and CPMPS.
• Must pass and maintain BPSS security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs across HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Lead the site engineering team and supervise visiting subcontractors as the main technical contact for mechanical plant operations.
• Enforce health and safety compliance by managing risk assessments, method statements, permits to work, and Legionella monitoring.
