Job summary

EQUANS is seeking a Lead Technical Operative – Mechanical to manage Manchester Civil Justice Centre facilities on a permanent full-time basis. You will supervise a site engineering team, oversee planned and reactive maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operation of building services systems.

The role requires extensive experience in FM environments and strong leadership. Based in Manchester, you will contribute to 24/7 maintenance readiness, liaise with clients and subcontractors, and uphold

Qualifications

• 5–10 years relevant experience in a demanding mechanical FM environment.
• Knowledge of building services systems and maintenance strategies.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead site engineering team and act as engineering champion on site.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical building services assets.
• Ensure safe working practices with Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
• Coordinate spares, parts lists, and repair timescales.
• Respond to emergencies and provide engineering support as needed.

Education

City and Guilds - Mechanical Engineering Services NVQ Level 2 or higher

CPMPS (Competent Person Mechanical and Pressure Systems)

Full UK Clean Driving License
