Job summary

Wates Smartspace is recruiting a Site Manager to lead on ancillary buildings for the HMP Welland Oaks project. You will manage day-to-day site operations, coordinate multiple trades, and ensure safety, quality and programme momentum while collaborating with the wider project team.

You will be responsible for implementing site management practices, maintaining regulatory standards, and contributing to a positive, high-performing site culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing site operations for designated work packages.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and quality standards on site.
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades and maintain programme momentum.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day site operations for designated work areas or packages.
• Coordinating subcontractors and trades to meet programme and quality requirements.
• Ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are consistently met and promoted.
• Monitoring quality of works and ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Supporting programme delivery, identifying risks and resolving issues proactively.
• Maintaining clear communication with the project team and stakeholders.
• Contributing to a positive, collaborative and high‑performing site culture.
