Job summary

STRABAG SE is seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead site operations on major industrial and logistics projects across the UK. The role focuses on safe, efficient delivery and high-quality standards, with responsibility for site leadership and coordination with Project Managers.

You will drive health and safety performance, ensure compliance with standards, and manage sub-contractors and resources to meet programme targets. Occasional travel to sites nationwide is required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large construction or civil engineering projects.
• Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
• Ability to communicate and present to top level management and senior clients.
• Understanding of commercial issues in construction projects.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and safety/environment requirements.
• Experience as a section/report foreman.
• Ability to manage day-to-day running of a construction site.

Responsibilities

• Provide site-based leadership for construction and installation operations in liaison with the Project Manager.
• Promote high standards of health, safety, environment and quality on the project.
• Ensure work quality complies with relevant standards and that defects are resolved promptly.
• Instruct all staff and sub-contractors on STRABAG safety and project requirements.
• Maintain and update the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan and related plans.
• Lead behavioural safety culture and ensure 6-point PPE compliance.
• Plan and run regular site meetings and look-ahead programmes.
• Coordinate sub-contractor statements, ITPs and briefing records.
• Monitor progress against programme targets and resource needs.
• Support training and development of foremen and project staff.
