Job summary

Kenton Black are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Site Manager in the Edinburgh area to lead major construction projects for a respected main contractor. You will own delivery from inception to handover and supervise site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

The role requires strong knowledge of construction processes, excellent leadership and communication, and a solid track record delivering complex schemes.

Qualifications

• Senior Site Manager or Site Manager experience in construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, site operations and project delivery.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, site teams and multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and best practice within construction.
• IT proficiency including Microsoft Office and common construction management software.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from inception through to completion and client handover.
• Lead, mentor, and support Site Managers, site staff, and subcontractors on site.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and site logistics to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Monitor progress against programme and implement solutions to mitigate delays.
• Ensure all works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
• Maintain compliance with health & safety procedures, quality management systems, and site regulations.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Manage site records, daily diaries, inspections, and project documentation.
• Oversee quality control, snagging, and completion processes.
• Ensure site welfare, housekeeping, and safety records are maintained at all times.

The client, a highly respected main contractor, is looking for a Senior Site Manager to lead the delivery of major construction projects across the East of Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity for an established construction professional to take ownership of high-profile developments, working with a strong project team and building lasting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing construction projects from inception through to completion and client handover

• Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and best practice within construction
• IT proficient, including Microsoft Office and common construction management software
• Full UK driving licence

• SMSTS certification
• Valid CSCS card
• First Aid qualification
• Previous experience delivering construction projects for a main contractor environment

Desirable

• Construction-related degree or trade background with management experience
• Temporary Works Supervisor certification
• Scaffold Inspection qualification
• UKATA Asbestos Awareness certification
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, education, healthcare, or mixed-use developments
