Job Description

Elvet Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Senior Site Engineer on behalf of a thriving civil engineering main contractor to work on projects across Yorkshire.

The company is an innovative civil engineering contractor with an increasing reputation, now with a turnover of over £500m. They have successfully delivered AMP7 projects in Yorkshire and are well-positioned for a busy AMP8, with confirmed work until 2030. They operate both in Yorkshire and internationally.

Their current projects in Yorkshire include major water treatment works and storm tanks, ranging from £500k to over £20m. The role will evolve into managerial and engineering duties as the sites develop, with a plan to progress into roles such as Agent or Site Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Setting out using relevant equipment
• Conducting as-built surveys
• Quality assurance and control
• Assisting the Site Agent
• Service location and avoidance
• Managing subcontractors
• Issuing and amending permits
• Temporary Works involvement on site

Experience and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer with a principal contractor on heavy civils or water infrastructure projects
• Competent with working as PC and familiar with documentation and site engineering processes
• Strong background in QA, ITPs, ITRs
• Experience with relevant equipment such as Total Station, Leica, Topcon
• Industry-related qualification (HNC/HND or Degree) is beneficial
• Valid CSCS card and full driving license are required
• Additional qualifications like SMSTS, Temp Works, CAT & Genny are advantageous

Remuneration:

The salary is up to £55,000 depending on experience, plus company vehicle or allowance, fuel card, annual leave, pension scheme, and other benefits.
