Job summary

Galliford Try Ltd is recruiting a Senior Engineer for the M5 J10 Improvements scheme in Cheltenham. The role involves setting out, engineering control and quality, plus mentoring the site engineering team to ensure safety and programme adherence.

You will write RAMS/ITPs, manage subcontractors, coordinate with commercial for reporting, and drive continuous improvement on site. Strong leadership and civil engineering background are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced setting out skills with Level, EDM and GPS knowledge.
• Relevant civil engineering experience (Highways, Rail, Water, Aviation).
• Strong leadership, delegation and problem-solving abilities.
• NVQ Level 3 or higher, SMSTS, CSCS card and CAD/Office 365 expertise.

Responsibilities

• Set out and ensure quality on site, coordinating and mentoring the site engineering team.
• Manage subcontractor performance to align with programme timelines.
• Write, review and implement RAMS, ITPs and RFIs/TQs.
• Control project schedules, attend coordination meetings and report progress.
• Support commercial with accurate financial reporting and manage snagging/ site waste.
