Job summary

Fusion People Ltd. is seeking a Senior Site Engineer (Geologist) for a permanent, site-based role in Manchester. Salary £32,000–£36,000 per year plus van and fuel card. You will supervise geotechnical ground investigations on site, log samples, and mentor junior engineers.

The ideal candidate holds a Geology/Geotechnical Engineering degree with 2–3 years of hands-on field experience on rigs/sites, plus strong communication and MS Office skills. Full UK driving licence required.

• 2–3 years of ground investigation and in-situ testing experience.
• Contractor background with hands-on field experience (rigs/sites).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Site based – Manchester

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage teams on small to medium‑sized geotechnical ground investigation projects on site, ensuring compliance in a technical, commercial, and HSEQ sense.
• Log rock and soil samples (e.g., boreholes and trial pits) and carry out field testing and surveying.
• Mentor and support junior engineers.
• Coordinate and drive project delivery while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years experience conducting ground investigations and in‑situ testing.
• Contractor background with hands‑on field experience (e.g., working on rigs and managing sites).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Full UK driving licence.
