Site Engineer - The Company:

Our client is one of the leading Tier 1 main contractors in the UK, with an established reputation within the South West market across new build construction sectors. Typical projects include major new build construction across Education, Public Sector, Healthcare, and Defence, ranging from £10 million to £150 million.

The successful candidate will be site-based and responsible for controlling the site engineering and technical aspects of construction works, implementing strict quality control measures. Duties also include participating in health and safety management and environmental control of site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure project works comply with contract specifications and drawings, maintaining records to confirm compliance.
• Maintain effective relationships with clients and their representatives.
• Implement company strategies and policies for sustainability, health and safety, quality, and environmental management, acting as a company culture ambassador.
• Apply the company's Business Management System.
• Proactively identify and resolve problems.
• Manage junior staff through annual appraisals and development.
• Perform any other relevant duties.

Candidate Requirements

• Technical knowledge and main contractor construction experience (essential).
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant construction field (preferred).
• SMSTS qualification and appropriate CSCS card (essential).
• Experience as a Senior Site Engineer or similar role (essential).
• Strong technical background.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to use initiative, logical, and critical thinking.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management and planning abilities.
• Attention to detail.
