Job summary

Mick George Group is recruiting a Construction Safety, Health and Environment Advisor to join the SHE team at head office and sites in Huntingdon.

You will lead by example, coach frontline staff, promote a proactive safety culture, and support continuous improvement across contracting, quarry, concrete and waste management environments. The role requires strong HSE knowledge and on-site leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a Health, Safety and Environment or senior management role in construction.
• NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Strong H&S/CDM knowledge for site operations.
• Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Experience preparing construction phase plans and risk assessments.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections and investigations.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example to drive a strong safety culture on site.
• Carry out site visits with management to promote SHE strategies.
• Investigate accidents and incidents using root cause analysis.
• Advise on regulatory compliance and improvements across contracting projects.
• Support IMS database systems and review procedures.
• Monitor SHE performance and report at management meetings.
• Develop safety alerts and communications.
• Liaise with directors and managers on IMS requirements.
