Job summary

Children's Social Work Matters in Kirklees seeks an experienced Service Manager to lead the new Family Help service, shaping practice and ensuring timely, high-quality support for children and families. You will provide strong, visible leadership to managers, social workers and practitioners, embedding relationship-based, evidence-informed practice.

You will drive safeguarding, early intervention and whole-family approaches while managing performance, budgets and learning across the service,

Qualifications

Qualified and Social Work England registered social worker with significant post-qualifying experience in children and families.
Experience at a managerial level.
Strong safeguarding, child protection, early help, assessment, planning and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership across Family Help teams, ensuring high-quality, child-focused practice.
Line manage Team Managers and support confident, effective and resilient teams.
Embed the Family Help model as part of the Families First reforms, promoting earlier help and multi-agency planning.
Ensure safeguarding, risk analysis and decision making are robust, timely and proportionate.
Use performance information and QA activity to drive service improvement.
Develop partnerships across education, health, police, early years, and community services.
