FirstPort, the UK’s largest property management company, is seeking a Senior Service Charge Accountant in Luton. You will deliver financial reporting and analysis for developments, residents, RMCs and clients, and produce accurate statements for stakeholders.

Reporting to the Property Services - Scheme Accounting Team Leader, you will manage year-end accounts, maintain ledgers, liaison with auditors, and drive process improvements while ensuring high-quality service to internal and external

Formación

• GCSE English and maths or equivalent required.
• AAT qualification completed or near completion preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience in a professional environment.
• Experience with double-entry bookkeeping and accurate record-keeping.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver year end accounts to residents in a timely fashion.
• Carry out transactions to ensure smooth accounting processes.
• Resolve issues on accounts and maintain high-quality service for customers/clients.
• Meet department productivity metrics and contribute to team goals.
• Liaise with auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and outcomes.
• Proactively audit and manage accounts, coordinating with analysts/managers.
• Perform balance sheet analysis and risk mitigation activities.
• Undertake cross-development analysis and reviews.
• Support the Service Charge Team Leader as required.

As Senior Service Charge Accountant, you will contribute to our vision of being the favourite property manager by:

• Provide all aspects of financial reporting and analysis for our developments, residents, RMCs and clients.
• Delivering accurate financial statements and records to our customers
• This role reports to the Property Services- Scheme Accounting Team Leader

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver year end accounts to residents in a timely fashion
• Carry out the necessary transactions to ensure a smooth accounting process for accounts
• Resolve issues on accounts and ensure a quality service is provided to customers/ clients
• Deliver to department productivity metrics and contribute to the team and organisational goals
• Liaise effectively with auditors to deliver a smooth audit process and provide the best possible outcome for our customers and our clients
• Adopt a proactive approach at all times to audit and accounts, liaising with analysts/ managers on areas of concern
• Balance sheet analysis & risk mitigation
• Undertake a Cross development analysis and review
• Take full responsibility of your own development and contribute positively and effectively to the team through creative ideas, tested processes or feedback from colleagues/ external parties.
• Support the Service Charge Team Leader as required

We are looking for great people who are:

• Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) level with passes in English language and a relevant mathematical / accounting subject
• Professional qualification such as AAT completed or very nearly completed.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in an accounting environment
• Double entry book-keeping and the accuracy that accompanies it
• Microsoft Excel in particular at intermediate level, alongside Microsoft Word
• High attention to detail with the ability to see and challenge information
• Strong communication skills, able to liaise with non-financial internal and external Customers
• Self-motivated and organised, able to prioritise own workload
• A team player, demonstrates working towards a common goal
• Strong customer focus, understanding both internal and external stakeholders
