Job summary

CRA Legal is seeking a Serious Injury Fee Earner - Grade C in Wakefield to manage a portfolio of complex serious injury claims, mainly arising from road traffic accidents, with responsibility for progression and client liaison. You will take ownership of key aspects and ensure milestones are met while delivering a high level of service to clients.

You will work within a supportive team, using a case management system, and may travel for client meetings across England and Wales.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting with or managing serious injury claims.
• Strong understanding of liability, causation and quantum.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a busy and varied caseload.
• Experience using case management systems, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Genuine commitment to client care and delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to work effectively within a target-driven environment.
• Proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of your work.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an established team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the progression and management of a portfolio of serious injury claims.
• Taking responsibility for agreed aspects of cases and ensuring key deadlines and milestones are met.
• Undertaking chargeable legal work and carrying out legal research as required.
• Reviewing and analysing evidence relating to liability, causation and quantum.
• Drafting statements, pleadings, schedules of loss and other legal documentation.
• Liaising directly with clients and maintaining regular communication throughout the claims process.
• Working closely with medical and other experts, including case managers, care experts, accountants, architects and counsel.
• Assisting with interim payments, rehabilitation and settlement negotiations.
• Maintaining accurate and comprehensive case records.
• Ensuring the firm's case management system is kept fully up to date.
• Supporting client meetings, conferences and settlement meetings.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to the wider development of the team.
• Providing support and guidance to more junior members of the team where appropriate.
