Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is recruiting for Senior SENDAR Officers to manage complex SEND casework across Derbyshire, working with families, schools and partner agencies to ensure timely, appropriate support for children and young people with SEND.

You will provide professional guidance within the Dispute Resolution Team, support SENDIST appeals where required, and contribute to quality assurance and service improvement to uphold statutory SEND processes.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people with SEND and their families.
• Knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
• Strong communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with professionals.
• A commitment to inclusion and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex SEND casework and collaborate with families, schools, colleges and partner agencies.
• Provide professional guidance within the team and contribute to quality assurance and service improvement.
• Help ensure statutory SEND processes are delivered to a high standard.
• Where appointed to the Dispute Resolution Team, manage SEND Tribunal appeals and support dispute resolution.
