Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a dedicated SENDAR Officer to support the SEND Assessment and Review service. You will coordinate casework, ensure statutory timescales, and work with families and professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

With experience in a customer-facing setting, you will maintain records, support budget-aware planning, and contribute to a high-quality, inclusive service delivered across Derbyshire County Council’s SEND teams.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
• Experience in a customer-facing or service-user environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage casework, including Annual Reviews and Phase Transfers.
• Ensure statutory processes and timescales are met.
• Liaise with families and professionals to support positive outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to budget-aware planning.
• Provide high-quality administrative and professional support.
• Ensure children and families remain at the heart of all decisions.
