Job summary

The Parker E-ACT Academy in Daventry, Northamptonshire, invites an inspiring Assistant Head – SENCO to lead SEND provision and champion inclusion across the academy. You will work with staff, families and external agencies to ensure every pupil receives tailored support and opportunities to thrive.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required to lead teaching and learning.
• Senior leadership or management qualification, or willingness to work towards.
• Up-to-date knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and ability to inspire teams.
• Proven ability to foster an inclusive, high-achievement culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND across the academy, ensuring an inclusive approach that promotes achievement, wellbeing and positive outcomes for all students.
• Lead and manage the academy's SEND provision, ensuring effective identification, assessment and support for students with additional needs
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with parents/carers, ensuring they are actively involved in supporting their child's education.
• Promote the safeguarding, welfare and wellbeing of all students, particularly those identified as vulnerable.
• Associate member of the Senior Leadership team (SLT)
