Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is hiring an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for a well-resourced SEN school in Billericay. The role involves 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes, helping with communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs, a calm and patient approach, and the ability to support non-verbal pupils and personal care when needed. DBS Update Service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
• Willing to support personal care where needed.
• Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
