Job summary

Manor Mead School in Virginia Water is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team. The role supports pupils with special educational needs across the primary age range, in a structured and caring environment.

The post offers full training and a DBS check will be undertaken. Hours are 31 hours 10 minutes per week across 38 weeks per year, with core hours Monday to Friday 8.40 am to 3.20 pm plus an additional 20 minutes weekly.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic about supporting pupils with special educational needs.
• Experience in a school setting preferred; graduates or career changers welcome.
• Able to work under supervision in a caring environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in classrooms and other learning environments.
• Attend to pupils' personal care and mobility needs under training.
• Support behaviour management as needed.
• Supervise pupils at breaks and lunchtimes.
• Contribute to organising classroom resources.
• Encourage independence and participation in activities.
• Record pupils' progress using prescribed charts.
• Attend staff meetings when required.
