Job summary

Manor Mead School in Shepperton is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and assist teaching staff in delivering a safe, engaging curriculum.

The role suits graduates or school leavers; full training is provided. Core hours are 8.45am–3.25pm, Mon–Fri, 31 hours 10 minutes per week over 38 weeks. A DBS check is required and safeguarding is a priority.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with special educational needs is desirable.
• Good communication and teamwork are essential.
• Willingness to undergo training and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher in the classroom and other learning environments to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Attend to pupils' personal requirements and physical care as needed, including moving and handling after training.
• Manage pupil behaviour in line with school policy and individual plans.
• Supervise pupils during breaks and lunches to support safe, active play.
• Assist on outings and school trips, including transport by minibus when required.
• Be aware of school policies and support their implementation.
