Job summary

Showsec is seeking a Senior Security Supervisor to join our team at The Lowry in Manchester. You will oversee security operations, manage the security team, monitor the site and enforce procedures to safeguard staff and visitors.

Key duties include rostering, access control, CCTV monitoring, incident reporting and coordinating with police and other agencies. A valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence and CCTV Licence are required, along with right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence and security industry experience.
• Valid SIA CCTV Licence or CCTV course booked.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Maths GCSE or equivalent (C or above).
• English GCSE or equivalent (C or above).
• First Aid at Work certificate or commitment to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security team and staffing levels; manage shift rotas.
• Monitor the site and CCTV; implement security procedures.
• Liaise with police and other agencies to ensure safety.
• Manage access/egress control for staff, contractors and visitors.
• Record incidents and maintain Daily Occurrence books; complete audits.

Job description

Showsec is looking for a Senior Security Supervisor to join our team at the Lowry in Manchester. The role is primarily focused on delivering a high standard of security across the Lowry building, ensuring the safety and security of the site at all times. The successful candidate will also support other areas of the building when required and provide a warm, professional welcome to all visitors. The role includes the management of both contracted and casual security staff and will be responsible for creating and maintaining the shift rota to ensure appropriate staffing levels are always in place.

What you’ll be doing

The purpose of the role of a Security Supervisor is to ensure the security and safety of The Lowry. This involves overseeing the security team, monitoring the site, and implementing security procedures. The Security Site Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all security staff adhere to protocols and procedures and that any security incidents are reported, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner. The Security Supervisor is also responsible for liaising with local police, other law enforcement agencies, and members of the public in order to ensure the safety and security of the site. Your day to day duties will include:

• Management of access / egress control
• Monitoring and authorising the entrance and departure of employees, contractors and other persons, to guard against theft and maintain security of the premises. This may involve the examination of hand baggage, parcels, or vehicles
• Maintaining constant staffing of the Security Control Room in order to take immediate action to deal with fire alarms, intruder alarms, the communications systems, building management systems and to monitor the Lowry’s CCTV cameras if a valid SIA CCTV license is held, to be alert to any suspicious activity
• Providing regular, high profile, internal and external patrols of the premises to prevent and detect any signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors and windows. To safeguard confidential material / information
• Reporting any incidents or suspicious activities, in person or via radio communication and record accurate reports of activities and irregularities in the Daily Occurrence book. Ensure relevant audits are completed. Monitoring of CCTV systems if a valid SIA CCTV license is held and following procedures in the event of an incident
• Comply with all company and client policies and procedures relating to the role including laws and regulatory influences
• Preparing and updating staff shift schedules. Liaising with the security manager and other departments.

What we need from you

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence, along with experience within the security, crowd management or event industries
• Valid SIA CCTV Licence or an upcoming CCTV course booked
• Right to work in the UK**
