Job summary

F5 is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to lead the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) and drive security posture for F5 products and services. The role requires deep expertise in incident handling, threat analysis, and vulnerability management, with responsibilities spanning customer incident responses, advisories, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will mentor others, research emerging threats, and develop security content and training.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in technical security roles with incident handling and threat analysis.
• Expert understanding of CVE/CVSS and security standards (NIST).
• Ability to mentor teams and communicate complex security concepts clearly.
• Proven background in cloud, network, and application security engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead security incident response activities across PSIRT and customer security incidents.
• Develop and deliver security content, training, and playbooks.
• Coordinate with engineering and legal teams to publish advisories and mitigations.
• Mentor staff, analyze threats, and drive remediation plans.
• Maintain incident documentation and drive post-mortems.
• Engage in security research to drive improvements in products and services.
