Job summary

F5, Inc. is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to lead the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT).

You will provide expert leadership on incident handling, threat analysis, and vulnerability responses, while mentoring junior engineers and driving security content creation. In this role you will coordinate across product engineering, legal and communications to develop advisories, mitigation plans, and remediation strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years in technical security roles including incident handling and threat analysis.
• Expert understanding of CVE/CVSS/NIST standards and security frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; CISSP or related cloud certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead security incident response within F5 SIRT and coordinate across teams.
• Mentor and train Security SRs, and develop playbooks and training content.
• Document incident reports, post-mortems and risk assessments for stakeholders.
• Develop and communicate security advisories and mitigations to customers and partners.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering and Legal on vulnerability disclosures and remediation plans.
