Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to protect our large-scale AI systems. You will design and implement security controls across multi-cloud environments, drive secure development practices, and mentor engineers while partnering with research and product teams.

Ideal candidates have 8-15+ years of software engineering experience, strong Python or systems-language skills, and deep knowledge of cloud security, networking, and threat modeling.

Qualifications

• 8-15+ years of software engineering experience with large-scale systems.
• Strong skills in Python or systems languages (Go, Rust, C/C++).
• Experience with DevOps and cloud automation (infrastructure as code).
• Hands-on network security engineering in cloud or on-prem environments.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes security and networking, including policy and service identity.
• Experience with threat modeling and risk assessment for multi-cloud environments.
• Mentor engineers, participate in hiring, and uphold engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Build security for large-scale AI clusters across clouds and data centers, including IAM, segmentation and encryption.
• Design and implement network security controls, private connectivity, and mTLS with service identity.
• Ship secure defaults using IaC and GitOps workflows for new clusters and data centers.
• Gain visibility into traffic and detect boundary drift with automated remediation where safe.
• Design secure development workflows and CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes security in mind.
• Threat model and assess risk for multi-cloud environments and collaborate across teams.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to hiring and growth of the Security team.
