Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Designer for the Security and Technology Engineering team to lead high-level security engineering on major projects across Europe and worldwide. The Buildings Engineering group includes ~400 engineers delivering large-scale construction with diverse sectors.

You will manage security services through RIBA stages—from risk assessment to design and deployment of electronic security solutions—while coordinating with specialists on counter-terrorism and HVM guidance.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Security Engineering
• RSES, CSyP, MsyI or PSP with CPD commitment
• Relevant security or engineering qualification
• Well-established expertise in Security Consultancy

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies and write operational requirements.
• Lead master planning for projects from city-level down to mixed-use developments.
• Design physical security solutions, including electronic locking, walling, glazing, doors, barriers, and fencing.
• Create electronic security designs for video surveillance, access control, intruder detection, and intercom systems.
• Provide counter-terrorism guidance, including HVM, bomb blast and ballistics in partnership with specialists.
