Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Designer for our Security and Technology Engineering team. This role offers a great opportunity to influence future construction projects in major cities across Europe and worldwide, managing high-level security engineering services throughout the RIBA stages.

You will design and oversee physical security solutions, provide CT guidance, and collaborate with a global team of engineers and designers.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in security engineering.
• Qualification in security or engineering discipline.
• Expertise in security consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies and write operational requirements.
• Lead master planning for projects from city-level down to mixed-use developments.
• Design physical security solutions, including electronic locking, walling, glazing, doors, barriers, and fencing.
• Create electronic security designs for video surveillance, access control, intruder detection, and intercom systems.
• Provide counter-terrorism guidance, including on Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM), bomb blast, and ballistics.
