Job summary

Greencore Spalding Meals is seeking a Senior Section Leader for night shifts (4 on 4 off). You will supervise a production team to maintain high quality output while controlling costs, aligned with CCP, GMP and safety standards.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll organize staff, monitor productivity and performance, and stand in as Production Manager when needed. Site-based role at West Marsh Road, Spalding.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production or section management role within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong leadership and team supervision abilities.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement practices and GMP/Health & Safety.
• Ability to supervise shift-based teams and work to KPI targets.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

In this busy and dynamic role as Senior Section Leader you will supervise a specified team to ensure that products are manufactured to the highest quality standards at minimum cost, always in line with CCP, GMP and Health & Safety requirements.

Reporting to a Production Manager, you will manage, organise and control all activities within the factory. You will assign and organise staff alongside managing productivity and performance ensuring the achievement of the required service levels and performance results. As a Senior Section Leader, you will also be expected to stand in as a Production Manager as and when required (in periods of absence or annual leave)

Role Accountabilities

• You will walk the floor of the production area and manage start-up procedures, receiving a handover from the previous shift and ensuring there is no excess or shortage of labour in the production areas.
• Complete Return to Work interviews, attend daily review meetings and team briefings.
• Constructively challenge performance of area – quality, throughput rate and crew size.
• Effectively audit daily technical paperwork.
• Document handover for oncoming shift and ensure packing area is left in a clean and safe condition.
• Review Productivity and NME Losses Graph to identify opportunities for improvement
• Identify performance management / training requirements within the area and manage the process / delivery
• An ability to work to Safety & Quality standards, with the ability to work with other functions to deliver the days production plans.
• Be expected to stand in as a Production Manager as and when required (periods of absence or annual leave)
