Job summary

FIND | Medical in Maidstone is seeking a Senior Scrub Nurse / Theatre Practitioner to join a busy surgical team. This role focuses on orthopaedic and general surgery, with a days-only rota and no night or Sunday shifts.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).
• Current NMC or HCPC registration.
• Significant scrub experience within orthopaedic and/or general surgery.
• Previous experience in a senior or leadership capacity is desirable.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care as part of the theatre team.
• Scrub for a variety of procedures, particularly orthopaedic and general surgeries.
• Support the Theatre Manager in the day-to-day running of the department.
• Mentor and support junior staff and students.
• Ensure adherence to clinical governance, infection control, and health & safety protocols.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists, and wider MDT.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Scrub Nurse / Theatre Practitioner to join a well-established, high-performing surgical team in Maidstone. You will play a key role within the operating theatre, supporting a wide range of surgical procedures, with a particular focus on orthopaedic and general surgery. As a senior team member, you will also contribute to maintaining high clinical standards, supporting junior staff, and ensuring efficient theatre operations.
