Circle Health Group is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner at Goring Hall Hospital in West Sussex. This full-time role (37.5 hours) offers a flexible shift pattern and a salary up to £44,372.66 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

You will lead the theatre team, scrub for a range of orthopaedic procedures, manage instruments and implants, and coordinate surgical lists to ensure safe patient flow across the theatre suite.

Senior Theatre Practitioner Goring Hall Hospital 37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: Up to £44,372.66 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) Goring Hall Hospital in West Sussex is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Theatre Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Theatres department. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Act as the senior scrub for a range of orthopaedic procedures, including joint replacements, arthroscopies, trauma, and spinal surgeries.
• Prepare and handle specialist instrumentation and equipment (e.g., power tools, implants, navigation systems) in line with manufacturers’ guidance and surgical protocols.
• Provide skilled assistance to the surgical and anaesthetic teams, anticipating needs and adapting to changes during procedures.
• Take a senior role in preparing theatres, coordinating surgical lists, and ensuring all equipment, staff, and resources are in place.
• Support the Theatre Manager with team briefings, scheduling, stock control, and ensuring safe patient flow through the theatre suite.
• Supervise junior theatre practitioners, ODPs, and healthcare assistants, providing clinical guidance and oversight during shifts.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
• Significant experience in the perioperative setting with specialist knowledge in orthopaedic surgery.
• Proven ability to scrub for a wide range of orthopaedic procedures, including complex cases.
• Experience in both scrub and anaesthetics is desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, infection control, and safety practices in theatre.
• Previous experience in a senior role within theatres.
• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery or advanced orthopaedic navigation tools.
• Mentorship or teaching qualification.
• ILS/ALS certification.
• Familiarity with private healthcare processes, scheduling, and implant stock systems.
