About the Role

Job Title: Senior Scientist, Synthesis Research Chemistry - Global Agrochemical Company

Contract: 12 months (potential to be extended/perm)

Location: Bracknell, Jealott's Hill

Salary: £20.50 per hour

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Synthetic Organic Chemist eager to advance their career in a cutting-edge research environment. The successful candidate will collaborate on multidisciplinary projects with world-class scientists in Agrochemistry, focusing on developing next-generation weed control products.

Previous experience in Agrochemistry is not mandatory; applications from candidates with diverse academic and industrial backgrounds are welcome. A comprehensive training program will be provided.

Job Responsibilities

• Design safe, sustainable, and effective synthetic routes to target molecules, utilizing knowledge, experience, and digital tools.
• Execute synthesis with high standards, collaborating with support platforms to enhance efficiency and solve critical challenges.
• Develop innovative solutions for complex synthetic challenges within and beyond own area of expertise. Specializations may include process chemistry, natural product synthesis, high-throughput experimentation, flow chemistry, photochemistry, electrochemistry, and specialized purification techniques.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of digital technologies such as computer-aided synthesis planning and automated data workflows, supporting their adoption within the chemistry community.

Essential Requirements

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a related discipline, or equivalent industrial experience.
• Strong knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry.
• Practical chemistry skills with high safety standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively to achieve project goals.
• Effective communication skills for presenting scientific results compellingly.
• Ability to work independently with good planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
