Years of Experience
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience including 4+ years of experience conducting different aspects of qualitative and quantitative research such as: planning, executing, analysis, synthesis, deliverable creation; design research leadership and managerial experience.
Requirements
Personal
- Ensure the products and services we deliver are grounded in a deep and contextual understanding of what matters to the people we are designing for
- Lead research activities including research planning, fieldwork execution, analysis, synthesis, research story, and deliverables
- Define research plans based on relevant research and business objectives, understand which methodologies are best to answer different client needs and questions and how to account for and acknowledge biases (personal, organisational and systemic)
Craft
- Collaborate with strategists and data scientists on mixed methods research to bring integrated value to our clients
- Work closely with UX designers and creatives to share insights and support the design of transformational products and services
- Mentor and support junior and midweight researchers in developing their skills, careers and expertise across the spectrum of research practice
Project
- Support in building our pipeline of work by offering expertise and support for opportunities and pitches for future work
Client
- We work with a wide variety of clients, across different industries and sectors, however we’re currently looking for designers to work specifically on several health and government projects.
- Create quality client deliverables.
- Establish and develop client relationships.
- Work in collaboration with client teams to understand the user, business and brand.
- Present thinking through appropriate methods to gain feedback and iterate your thinking.
- Several of our clients require background checks. You will need to complete a Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) to confirm your identity, criminal record, right to work and residency.

Community
- Demonstrable experience communicating with clients, stakeholders and partners about research methodologies, analysis, and findings in a clear and engaging manner
- Comfort with ambiguity yet unstoppable drive to create order out of chaos
Skillset
- Relevant experience in conducting different aspects of qualitative and quantitative research such as planning, executing, analysis, synthesis, deliverable creation; experience of design research leadership and managerial experience
- Proven history of delivering results on time and within budget
- Mastery all aspects of research: recruiting processes; scheduling and logistics; protocol development; analysis and framework development; video compilations; research deliverables
- A breadth of qualitative research experience which may include interviewing, moderating, ethnographic research, shadowing, contextual interviews, UX/UI research, field studies.
- A breadth of quantitative research experience which may include survey research, synthesizing/analysing large-scale data, natural language processing corpora or other large texts, or statistical experimental design
Set Yourself Apart
- Demonstrable experience conducting research in complex environments and/or across a variety of sectors e.g. FTSE 500 companies, government bodies
- Prior experience incorporating mixed methods research into scaled agile delivery teams across the delivery lifecycle
- Proven track record or portfolio demonstrating a broad understanding of design research methodology, from brief through to synthesis, incorporating a mix of qualitative and quantitative approaches
- Understanding of service design, UX design and/or product management
