Job description

Our client, a leading global biopharmaceutical organisation, is seeking a Research Scientist/Senior Scientist to join its Immune Reset team.

This is a hands‑on role focused on developing and executing translational and functional in vitro/ex vivo assays using primary human immune cells and patient‑derived samples. You will generate data supporting target validation, molecule selection and translational development programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, optimise and execute functional immune‑cell assays for screening, target validation and mechanism‑of‑action studies.
  • Develop translational assays using primary human immune cells and patient samples.
  • Analyse data, troubleshoot experiments and communicate clear scientific conclusions.
  • Present findings to multidisciplinary and cross‑functional teams.
  • Collaborate across biology, translational science and data science.
  • Work to high standards of laboratory safety, compliance and sample governance.
  • BSc/MSc/PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of human immunology and autoimmune disease biology.
  • Hands‑on experience with functional immune‑cell assays, such as proliferation, activation, cytotoxicity, differentiation, MLR or antigen‑recall assays.
  • Experience with Fc‑mediated mechanisms such as ADCC, ADCP and/or CDC.
  • Experience isolating and culturing primary human immune‑cell subsets using FACS and/or magnetic separation.
  • Strong multi‑parameter flow cytometry expertise, including panel design, controls, compensation/spectral unmixing and data analysis.
  • Experience with platforms such as ELISA, MSD, Luminex or ELISpot.
  • Proficiency with FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, Excel and/or R.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Patient‑derived autoimmune/inflammatory disease samples.
  • B‑cell, T‑cell, plasma‑cell or myeloid biology.
  • Biologics or other therapeutic modalities.
  • Spectral flow, single‑cell, imaging, transcriptomics or proteomics.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a scientifically ambitious organisation working at the forefront of immune modulation and immune reset.
