Job summary

Flagship Pioneering is seeking a Senior Scientist to join FL129 and help build a novel platform for DNA-encoded library technology.

The successful candidate will have a PhD with 5+ years of DEL design, synthesis, hit deconvolution, and affinity-based selection, and will drive experimental direction.

Qualifications

• PhD in organic/medicinal chemistry or chemical biology with 5+ years in industry or postdoc.
• End-to-end experience with DEL design, synthesis, affinity selection, and hit deconvolution.
• Hands-on expertise in DNA-compatible chemistry and on-DNA reactions.

Responsibilities

• Technology development aligned with core strategic goals.
• Design, construction, and QC of DNA-encoded small molecule libraries.
• Execute and optimize affinity-based selections against protein targets.
• Deconvolute and validate screening hits, including resynthesis and activity confirmation.
• Optimize workflows and establish best practices to enable platform excellence.
• Ensure rapid turnaround of data to drive project goals.
• Translate data into insights and present results at team meetings.
