Working with the Head of Science and teaching staff, you will prepare, set up and maintain laboratories and classrooms for practical lessons, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school laboratory or similar environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Good understanding of laboratory health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and clear away equipment, chemicals and materials for practical lessons.
• Ensure laboratories, prep rooms and classrooms are safe, organised and well-maintained.
• Oversee stock control, ordering and storage of equipment and resources.
• Maintain accurate records, including health and safety documentation.
• Support the development of practical activities, including testing and preparing experiments.
• Lead on health and safety requirements (e.g. COSHH, CLEAPSS guidance).
• Provide guidance and support to other technicians where appropriate.
• Liaise with science staff to ensure resources meet curriculum needs.
