Job summary

Chiltern Hills Academy is seeking a Senior Science Technician to lead technical support within the Science Department. You will prepare, set up and clear away practical work, maintain laboratories and equipment, and manage chemical storage with safety at the forefront.

You will line-manage science technician staff, provide training and development, oversee stock and budgets, and contribute to CPD, displays, and academy events across the school.

Qualifications

• A Level Science or equivalent.
• Good general education.

Responsibilities

• Maintain laboratories, preparation rooms and equipment to a high standard.
• Manage chemical storage and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Keep accurate stock records and inventories and order resources.

• Support teachers and students during practical work and investigations.
• Line manage, train and support science technician staff.
• Help with departmental budgets, displays, open evenings and academy events.
