Job summary

Oxford Diocesan Bucks Schools Trust in Chiltern Hills is seeking a Senior Science Technician to lead the technical support within the Science Department. You will prepare practical resources, maintain equipment and ensure safe chemical storage to support outstanding science lessons.

You will line manage the technician team, manage budgets and stock, contribute to CPD and leadership development, and help drive progression across the academy.

Qualifications

• General education including A Level Science (or equivalent).
• Laboratory experience and knowledge of chemicals and their properties.
• Excellent organisational, ICT and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons and examinations.
• Maintain laboratories, preparation rooms, equipment and resources to a high standard.
• Manage chemical storage and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate stock records, inventories and order resources as required.
• Research, trial and introduce new equipment and practical activities.
• Support teachers and students during practical activities and investigations.
• Line manage, train and support science technician staff.
• Assist with departmental budgets, displays, open evenings and academy events.
