Job summary

QAD Redzone is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to develop and maintain the API backend in Scala, and to support the MCP server for AI integrations, with OpenApi-first design.

Work includes improving OpenSearch usage, building scalable services in a modern cloud environment (AWS, Kubernetes), writing tests, and contributing to incident responses. This is a full-time, direct-hire role in the UK with visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a Backend Engineer.
• Required languages: Scala (5+ years) and Java.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the QAD Redzone API Backend (Scala).
• Develop and maintain the MCP server to support AI integrations.
• Improve the use of OpenSearch within the backend application.
• Complete delivery work committed during the sprint to achieve business goals.
• Help the business maintain a competitive edge by leveraging the latest Scala and Web technologies.
• Provide incident SME support to resolve customer issues quickly.
• Write testable and maintainable code.
