Eutelsat is seeking a hands-on modem engineer to advance the next generation of LEO, multi-orbit terminal technology. You will work alongside the modem architect on the physical layer, pursuing a single-chip modem module and a shared platform for PHY, protocol stack, and host processing.

You’ll build and operate the lab bench, run measurement campaigns, verify results against golden vectors, and drive root-cause fixes.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or MSc in electronics, telecommunications, signal processing or computer science.
• 6–12 years in embedded signal processing, wireless physical layer, or SDR.
• Strong C/C++ on embedded targets with profiling/optimisation experience (vector intrinsics welcomed).
• Experience with fixed-point: scaling, saturation, dynamic range, quantisation effects.

Responsabilités

• Bring the platform up: toolchains, boot, firmware images, and initial subsystem initialisation.
• Work inside PHY software: develop/port/optimise signal processing kernels and BLE code with FEC and engines.
• Build and own the laboratory bench: RF chain, vector generators, channel emulator, GNSS simulator, timing test set.
• Automate instrument control, nightly regression, and results reporting.
• Execute acceptance/characterisation campaigns: BER/BLER vs Es/N0, Doppler, scaling, and timing performance.
• Verify software bit-exactly against reference models and maintain regression suite.
• Instrument and profile the target: IQ capture, logging, memory bandwidth, and DMA profiling.
