Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Senior Authorised Person for a 132kV works project in Basingstoke on a 3-month initial contract.

The role requires SSE Authorised Person (MV/HV) approval and proven experience with 132kV substations and transformer replacement projects. You will manage HV safety documentation, switching schedules and permits, oversee construction activities and coordinate site teams while ensuring adherence to SSE safety rules.

Qualifications

• SSE Authorised Person (MV/HV) approval is essential.
• Experience on 132kV substations and transformer replacement projects.
• Strong background in construction, installation, commissioning and grid connections.
• Ability to manage site safety and HV operations in a live electrical environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for 132kV works.
• Manage HV safety documentation, switching schedules and permits.
• Oversee construction, installation and connection activities.
• Coordinate contractors and site teams throughout the build phase.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with SSE safety rules and procedures.
• Support testing, commissioning and final energisation.
