Job summary

Diptyque is seeking a Senior Sales Assistant at Selfridges Oxford Street to actively support the Counter Manager and drive counter KPI performance. You will be a brand ambassador, ensuring the Diptyque luxury positioning within a premier department store and leading by example in customer service, product knowledge, and team coaching.

The successful candidate will have fragrance/beauty/luxury retail experience, a proven sales record, and strong understanding of retail KPIs.

Responsibilities

• To deliver agreed sales KPI's for the counter, focusing on sales, ATV, UPT, and conversion.
• Assist with execution of product launches per Marketing Plan and VM guidelines and instruction from HQ.
• Assist with management of events including launch previews, customer events, and fragrance fittings.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle queries/complaints professionally.
• Demonstrate knowledge about products and represent the brand in-store.
• Coach and develop team members as required.
• Monitor competitors and industry trends.
• Communicate store performance and recommendations to improve the business.
• Ensure back of house areas are clean and organized; maintain presentable counter.
• Complete paperwork and reporting daily, weekly, and monthly.

The Senior Sales Assistant within a department store, will actively support the Counter Manager with the sales KPI performance of the counter as a junior member of the store management team. In the absence of the Counter Manager the Senior Sales Assistant will assume full accountability for all areas of the store. As a key Brand Ambassador, ensure Diptyque' s positioning as a true luxury brand.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To deliver agreed sales KPI's for the counter - these KPI's will focus on sales, ATV, UPT, and conversion. You will need to demonstrate the ability to motivate the team to deliver these results.
• Assist with the execution of all product launches as per Marketing Plan and VM guidelines and instruction from HQ to include in-store displays, and layouts, working with the host store teams as and when needed to ensure that all parties are happy with installation.
• Assist with the management of all events inclusive of launch previews, customer events, MDS and Fragrance Fittings
• Excellent customer service skills to set exemplary standards of customer service in the store for all staff at all times and to deal with consumer queries and complaints in a professional manner.
• Demonstrate high levels of knowledge about our products and are able to fully represent the brand in the store.
• Assist with the ongoing coaching and development of team members as required.
• Maintain knowledge of key competitors and industry trends
• As Senior Sales Assistant you must also be able to communicate effectively a level of commercial understanding about the host store and your counter performance, and when the performance dictates work with the Counter Manager to make fact-based recommendations to improve the business.
• Attend Host Store business meetings and relay information to manager and HQ as required.
• To ensure the back of house areas are maintained to a high standard that supports the needs of the sales floor. Also, the counter is clean, neat and tidy at all times.
• Working with the Manager, ensure all paperwork and reporting is completed accurately and on time - daily, weekly and monthly as required. Also need to be able to interpret sales data and set action plans accordingly as agreed by HQ.
• Ensure that the host store Cash Handling guidelines are followed at all times.
• Ensure full knowledge of till procedures and processes within the host store.
• To be aware of all security and health and safety issues and requirements of the host store and to ensure all staff are aware of the same.
• Work with the Inventory Manager and host store buying teams to ensure stock levels are sufficient and monitored, conducting regular scheduled stock takes as required.
• Assist with the management of all emergency situations involving the host store and team members in the absence of the Counter Manager
• General administrative duties.
• Abide at all times by Company and Host Store rules and policy.
