Job summary

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Safeguarding Adults lead to support and guide staff on adult protection cases across services.

You will promote personalised and safe care, support safeguarding governance and contribute to the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty safeguards across the Trust. The role requires senior clinical experience, strong communication and training delivery for multiagency teams.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or health/social care professional with active registration.
• Minimum 5 years post-registration experience.
• At least 3 years Band 6 leadership experience.
• Clear safeguarding experience with specialist knowledge of the subject area.
• Ability to communicate complex information across disciplines and agencies.
• Experience delivering safeguarding training to large groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to frontline health professionals on Adult Protection, Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
• Provide specialist advice on Mental Capacity assessments and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
• Support and advise staff on Safeguarding Adults issues, attend strategy meetings/case conferences.
• Facilitate safeguarding supervision following safeguarding incidents.
• Ensure involvement of vulnerable adults and carers in decisions; advocate when needed.
• Deliver safeguarding training across the organisation.
