Job summary

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 7 safeguarding professional for a full-time role. Based at St George’s Hospital, the post will cross-site provide cover at Epsom and St Helier hospitals as required.

The role involves leading a small safeguarding team, delivering training, and coordinating safeguarding responses in line with Care Act requirements. Experience in MCA/DoLs is essential.

Qualifications

• Current registration with a regulatory body within health and social care.
• BIA qualification or willingness to undertake.
• Competency-based teaching qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate hospital adult safeguarding response with the team and lead.
• Support wards/departments to ensure safe discharge and safeguarding of patients.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns related to hospital care and treatment.
• Deliver safeguarding training to staff and contribute to learning.
• Contribute to strategic development of adult safeguarding within the trust.
• Carry out MCA assessments where required.
