3 months contract with local authority

We are seeking an experienced Adult Safeguarding Coordinator to oversee and direct enquiries into adult safeguarding issues. The ideal candidate will have practical experience and a thorough understanding of the adult safeguarding process, particularly changes after the Care Act implementation. They will be responsible for identifying risks to adults with care and support needs, instigating protection plans, and ensuring compliance with the Mental Capacity Act. The successful candidate will have the ability to write detailed reports, manage staff, and work effectively in highly charged and emotional situations.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Experience in directing enquiries into adult safeguarding issues
  
• Chairing adult safeguarding meetings
  
• Practical experience and understanding of the adult safeguarding process, particularly changes after the Care Act implementation
  
• Identifying risk to adults with care and support needs
  
• Instigating protection plans to reduce risk to at-risk adults
  
• Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and its application to adult safeguarding
  
• Ability to write detailed and complex reports with accuracy and clarity
  
• Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983, Carers Act 1995 and 2000, NHS and Community Care Act 1990, and Care Act 2014
  
• Proven ability to manage staff
  
• Clear and concise communication skills
  
• Good time management and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

• Ability to work as a team member
  
• Possession of a full driving license and a car for business use
