GenesisCare Bristol Cancer Centre is seeking a senior specialist nurse to manage a personal caseload, run nurse-led clinics and deliver chemotherapy and systemic therapies. You will deputise for the Lead SACT Nurse and provide telephone triage within a 24-hour on-call rota.

Requirements include NMC registration, UKONS SACT Passport or plans to obtain one, and at least 2 years' oncology nursing experience with venepuncture, cannulation and bone marrow biopsies.

Competenze

• NMC registration required to practise in the UK.
• UKONS SACT Passport or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• At least 2 years' nursing experience in oncology administering chemotherapy/SACT.
• Experience with venepuncture, cannulation and central venous access devices.
• Experience in oncology telephone triage and management of neutropenic sepsis.
• Experience and competence in blood transfusion and bone marrow biopsies.

Mansioni

• Manage own patient caseload and provide specialist nursing advice across the cancer treatment pathway.
• Run nurse-led clinics and assess patients' health, treatment and nursing needs.
• Deliver chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies safely and effectively.
• Recognise and manage treatment complications, including anaphylaxis, extravasation and neutropenic sepsis.
• Provide clinical leadership within the SACT team, working autonomously.
• Use advanced clinical skills in venepuncture, cannulation and central venous access.
• Provide telephone triage and out-of-hours support as part of the 24-hour on-call team.
• Deputise for the Lead SACT Nurse when required.
• Support the development of junior colleagues.
• Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of nursing practice and services.
